Sucata Run 2009 Rouen to Cabo da Roca This August five people will willingly drive through France, Spain and Portugal in a cheap shitty car which will most likely be even shittier by the end. We are Paul (or Pauil as he is sometimes known), Alan, Damien (is his name), Ciarán and Steven. Will we all make it? The odds don't look promising... So far... The only rule (other than having insurance and all that sort of thing that we will sort out at some point...probably) is that the car must be worth less than £250. Seemed easy enough at the time but with five arses to seat it was a little trickier than first thought. After scouring Ebay we narrowed our search (not a good idea really) to a Volvo Estate. Though we were outbid for a belting Lada estate we eventually found our Volvo...and yes, it is cheap and shitty. Our first donations have begun and we have also hoodwinked Irish Ferries to give us a free ferry over to France for the five of us (hopefully the beast won't sink the boat) which would have cost us about €600! In return we will advertise Irish Ferries on our bonnet. 1, thats a big advert, and 2, if you saw an 18yr old Volvo advertising Irish Ferries would it make you want to use them? Tough one... We are now looking at selling panels to worthy businesses to generate as much money as possible - the record fund raising is £7000 - with a car as big as this we could smash that!
